Ashland County is working land. North of town it runs flat and agricultural, section after section of corn, beans, and hay broken up by fence rows and woodlots. South toward Hayesville and Perrysville the ground starts to roll and the woods thicken as you head into Mohican country. Both kinds of ground grow the same problem: brush. Idle fields go to goldenrod and multiflora rose, fence rows swallow their wire, and woodlot edges creep a little further into the fields every year.
E&S Forestry works Ashland from our base in Mansfield, an easy 15-minute run up US-42 or OH-96. We bring one tracked mulcher and a brush hog, and between them they cover what Ashland County ground actually needs: forestry mulching for the thickets, brush hogging for the fields, fence line clearing for the rows, and pasture reclamation for ground that slipped too far.

The classic Ashland County call is a fence row or field edge that has gone from strip to jungle. Rose and honeysuckle fill the rows between fields, volunteer cherry and hedge grow up through old wire, and every year of waiting costs a mower-width of tillable or grazable ground on each side. We mulch those rows back to a clean corridor and grind the stumps low, so the line can be fenced, farmed to, or just mowed and kept.
Pasture reclaims are the other steady job. Plenty of ground between Ashland, Savannah, and Polk carried livestock a decade ago and carries thicket now. A mulching pass takes it back to open ground in a day or two, and an annual mow keeps it that way for a small fraction of the reclaim cost.
South and east of town, Ashland County turns into recreational land: wooded hills, hunting parcels, and properties bought as much for the deer as the address. That ground calls for underbrush removal that opens the woods without flattening it, and trails and access lanes that make a steep twenty acres actually usable.
Tracked equipment matters out there. Our machine works slopes and soft spots that would strand wheeled gear, mulches a stable walking surface as it goes, and leaves keeper oaks and maples standing exactly where you flagged them. Hayesville, Jeromesville, Perrysville, and the ground running down toward Loudonville are all comfortably inside our working radius.
